Abstract

In this research we use the theoretical perspective of feminist geography to analyze violence against women in Brazil. The purpose of this study is to understand how violent homicides of women relate to socioeconomic factors in the period 19812016. Methodologically, we used a multiple linear regression with socioeconomic variables to understand the phenomenon. The results point to a final model composed of two socioeconomic variables with a prediction of 96,6% (R2 = 0.966). Thus, we conclude that violence against women is related to the socioeconomic vulnerability of the country.
