Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the spatial distribution of femicide and the factors associated with interpersonal violence in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil, from 2012 to 2016. This is a cross-sectional study over femicide victims who had a record of violence in the Notifiable Diseases Information System. 76 cases were identified with the feminicide qualifier. Women who were subjected to rape by cutting or perforating object (RC = 1.20; 95% CI: 1.02 - 1.41) and who lived in the macro-region of Sertão or Vale do São Francisco (RC = 1.25; CI95 %: 1.07-1.47) had higher chances for the outcome of fatal violence.
