This research sought to understand the territory of transsexual and travesti prostitution in Alfenas/MG from the voices of the subjects involved in the process. With this aim, we discuss the concept of territory and its presumptions present in Geography in connection to the theme of identity and gender. To hear the voices of people territorialized in prostitution in Alfenas/MG, we conducted twelve semistructured interviews with five trans women who work in this activity, with five residents, and with two traders who share the space territorialized by those women during the night. In the city, the practice of transsexual prostitution is observed throughout Avenida Governador Valadares, a phenomenon marked by marginalization and cynicism on the part of heteronormative society.
