YOUNG WOMEN IN THE HIP HOP CULTURE OF LONDRINA (PR): INTERPRETATIONS FROM RELIEF MAPS

Abstract

This article aims to interpret the intersectional experiences of the city of young black women who participate in the Hip Hop culture in Londrina (PR), through relief maps. Hip Hop is understood as a black youth culture that enables young women to assert themselves, however, it is predominantly made up of men and within it gender stigmas are still widespread. In this way, it becomes relevant to interpret the confrontations that the young women carry out in cultural spaces, as well as in the urban space through it. Among the methodologies adopted are fieldwork, interviews with five young black hip hoppers and relief maps. The main conclusion is that the young are constantly negotiating their identities and permanence in the urban space of Londrina.
