Abstract

The territorialization of marginalized groups reveals protection strategies as their right to the city is threatened by stigmas, as exemplified by the LGBTQIA+ community. In the municipality of Curitiba-PR, this study sought to identify, characterize, and analyze LGBTQIA+ sociability spaces and assess how these places and their visitors relate to the city in terms of safe sociability. Methodologically, it relied on consolidated theories on the subject, analysis of questionnaires, research on platforms and social networks, and mapping. The results indicated that the perception of safe sociability is influenced by a series of factors, exposing limitations in the right to the city for this social group.
