Abstract

Abstract: In this article, we propose to reflect on the political participation of adolescents in light of the current wave of insurgency by the so-called Generation Z in different contexts of the Global South. The analysis is grounded in critical perspectives on adultcentrism as a social structure of exclusion and the silencing of non-adult individuals, positioning these discussions within a field that challenges institutionalized forms of participation. We argue that, through the political meanings emerging from everyday life and the symbolic grammars that organize adolescent interventions in social directions, it becomes possible to build intergenerational pathways for the elaboration of common conflicts and the reinvention of the public sphere.
