THE SURROUNDING DISCOURSES AND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE ETHOS OF A TEACHERIN PRACTICE

Abstract

From the perspective of Applied Linguistics, this article aims to investigate the constitution of ethos and the surrounding discourses of a Portuguese language teacher in the state of Alagoas, especially in the context of working with the production of texts in elementary school II. The theoretical apparatus deals with discourse and ethos and presents some teacher-images in history. The methodology has a qualitative approach, in terms of action research, using as data the speeches of a textual production teacher working in the public school system in the state of Alagoas. It was noticeable, in the analyses, that professional devaluation is the aspect most mentioned by the teacher when she observes her work and the difficulties in developing approaches, since the teaching profession is the target of a variety of engaging discourses.

    Doutoranda (2024) em Letras pela UPF, Mestra (2017) em Letras e linguística pela Universidade Federal de Alagoas. Possui graduação em Letras pela Universidade Federal de Alagoas (2008) Atualmente é professora do Instituto Federal de Alagoas. Tem experiência na área de Linguística, com ênfase em Linguística, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: ethos - produção de texto - professores, formação de professor, sustentabilidade e diálogo.

    Professora associada da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade Federal de Alagoas/UFAL, onde lidera o Grupo de Estudos Discurso, Ensino e Aprendizagem de Línguas e Literatura/Gedeall e coordena o Laboratório Linguagens, Gêneros e Sexualidades/LliGSe. É Doutora e mestre em Linguística pelo PPGLL/UFAL, foi licenciada Letras/Português pela mesma universidade. Realizou estudos pós-doutorais no Programa de Pós-graduação em Linguística/UFC em 2019.
