Edutainment as a Sociotechnical Device: Mediation, meaning Disputes, and the Production of Subjectivities in Digital Culture
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study analyzes edutainment as a sociotechnical device, examining its implications for information mediation, meaning disputes, and the production of subjectivities in digital culture. It adopts a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive approach, based on bibliographic review and critical theoretical analysis. The theoretical framework articulates contributions from digital culture, information mediation, and sociotechnical studies. The results indicate that edutainment goes beyond a pedagogical strategy, acting as a mediating structure that organizes knowledge circulation, shapes visibility regimes, and influences meaning-making processes in digital environments. It also highlights its role within power dynamics that affect educational processes and subjectivity formation. The study concludes that edutainment is a central element for understanding contemporary transformations in teaching and learning practices.
