Abstract

This article reflects the processes of socialization that include youth trajectories as dispositions to engage in militancy in groups, collectives, organizations and environmental movements. We worked on a qualitative perspective with semi-structured interviews as a methodological contribution to the production of narratives and, for the analysis, the categories of militant engagement and political socialization were used. The results suggest that school, family, social groupings, participation in trade unions, youth associations and pastoralists influence environmentalist youth militant engagement. We concluded that environmental youth in the contemporary world is engaged. Therefore, there is a need for more research on this topic.
