It is proposed, in this paper, to explore the formative perspective of the National Student Performance Exam (ENADE, acronym in Portuguese), going beyond its summative conception. It was identified weaknesses and difficulties faced in ENADE 2021 by Geography (Bachelor’s) graduates from an Observation Unit when opting for mistaken alternatives (distractors-attractors) in objective items of the Specific Component. This is an exploratory study of a mixed nature, embodied in the following documents from the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP): Area Summary Report, Course Report, and ENADE 2021. Twenty-two distractors-attractors were observed in 16 items, exemplified in three items, in which weaknesses are observed regarding the use of remote sensing, the place category, and the types of regionalization. It is understood that the expansion of this study, especially incorporating other editions of the Exam, may support the management of the pedagogical projects of the courses, in general, and, for each teacher in particular in the (re)planning of curricular components of the specific training of the Bachelor’s in Geography.
