This article analyzes the possibilities of the Lesson Study for the training of graduate students for teaching in Higher Education. Based on the concept of professional development and the didactic principles of university teaching, we conducted a qualitative research with eight master and doctoral students based on a Lesson Study developed between December 2022 and May 2023. The empirical material consists of the data constituted by a questionnaire applied at the beginning of the Lesson Study cycle, the transcripts of the sessions and the field notes of the researchers. The analysis points out that the Lesson Study has the potential to contribute to the training of graduate students for university teaching through reflection on teaching at the university and through teaching planning, which was carried out in a context of collaboration between university professors and stricto sensu graduate students.
