Abstract

Agribusiness is a key economic sector of the Brazilian economy, among the agribusiness products is peanuts, which have a high export rate and a large part of their production is in the state of São Paulo. Legumes go through a series of processes after harvesting so that they are ready for sale, where the role of cereal producers is to dry, store, and clean the product, activities that must undergo constant improvement in order to expand production and minimize costs operation, maximizing the competitiveness of the product in the market. Thus, the aim of this work was to analyze the productive process of a peanut cereal producer in the Presidente Prudente/SP region. To achieve this objective, a descriptive qualitative research was used, applying participant observation as a data collection instrument, which allowed greater understanding and descriptive capacity of the stages of the production process and their description. The results indicate the excess of powder left by the peanuts throughout the production process, which can deteriorate various equipment. A slowdown in the production process was also identified, which can be remedied with the acquisition of new machinery. Finally, the inadequate arrangement of the machines hinders the flow of the product and of people, and for the solution of this condition, a physical study was suggested for better positioning of the machinery.
