SIMULAÇÃO FLUIDODINAMICA DE TREM DE POUSO DE AERONAVES: MANUFATURA ADITIVA VERSUS MANUFATURA SUBTRATIVA
Abstract
The comparison of additive manufacturing with subtractive manufacturing in aircraft landing gear designs, from the perspective of aerodynamics, can undoubtedly prove to be innovative for aeronautical industry. This is relevant, since requirements related to noise caused by aerodynamic drag are increasingly severe, so it is an important subject to be researched. This article presents results obtained with fluid dynamics simulations (CFD - Computational Fluid Dynamics) comparing two different aircraft landing gear models. The first model, a traditionally designed landing gear with subtractive manufacturing, that is, not integrated and without aerodynamic shape. And second model developed in aerodynamic format via additive manufacturing. Finally, analyzes of fluid dynamics simulations are presented and results are discussed. The analyzes obtained from this research show the need for an emphatic approach and further studies on aircraft landing gear projects. In near future, it is quite possible that aircraft's landing gear will be entirely built with additive manufacturing.
