Abstract

Abstract: Environmental preservation has gained importance in recent years, the concept has been established that development must be associated with environmental management, directly interfering with people's quality of life. This, however, has not been enough to stop the process of environmental degradation that has taken place. Lifestyle and mass production have resulted in alarming levels of soil, air and water pollution, destruction of animal and plant biodiversity and the rapid depletion of mineral reserves and other non-renewable resources around the world. In Brazil, construction and industrial waste, wastewater, domestic sewage, solid waste, use of pesticides, among other actions, have caused severe environmental impacts. In addition, Brazil is marked by significant waste of water, even causing scarcity in several regions. Therefore, the management of water resources, applying environmental law, becomes a means of influencing civil construction professionals, guiding and training them regarding the minimization of environmental impacts and the importance of ecological control. It is concluded that environmental law allows meeting the needs of technological development without compromising the possibility of future generations to meet their own needs.
