Experiências da mobilidade feminina nas cidades: entre resignações e disputas

Abstract

The literature on women's urban mobility informs us that most of the research that supports this field is quantitative and comparative, referring fundamentally to the different patterns of travel and commuting between the female and male genders in modes of transport. Dominguez González et al (2020). In such a way that the specificities of women's demands and the challenges they face during their journeys are not commonly taken into account. Jesus, P. The aim of this text is to discuss women's urban mobility using new theoretical approaches as well as an innovative methodological procedure: the Accompanied Commutes (Home-Work-Home). As a result, we found that women cannot be taken as a single category and the diversity and plurality of their demands must be taken into account in urban planning.
