Abstract

We evaluated the urban green area of the São Raimundo Nonato city, Piauí, regarding the floristic composition and the pollination service, comparing it with the natural ecosystem (Caatinga), through indices of functional diversity of the reproductive traits. For that, the usual procedures of collect and identification of species, classification (the origin, floral attributes, and pollination syndromes), followed by data analysis. The results show that the urban area presents a greater functional diversity because of the richness of exotic species, but with specialized pollination systems and resources inaccessible to native pollinators. By removing them, the rates are higher in the Caatinga, revealing the need for planning in afforestation with native species suggested.

    Possui graduação em Ciências Biológicas - Bacharelado pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (2005), Mestrado (2008) e Doutorado (2012) em Biologia Vegetal pela mesma instituição. Atualmente é professor do Departamento de Biociências (DBCI), da Universidade Federal de Sergipe (UFS). Tem experiência na área de Botânica, com ênfase em Ecofisiologia Vegetal de Ambientes Semiáridos, atuando, principalmente, nos seguintes temas: alelopatia, banco de sementes do solo, Cactaceae, conservação de espécies ameaçadas de extinção, desenvolvimento inicial, germinação e memória hídrica de sementes. Professor permanente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ecologia e Conservação (PPEC / UFS São Cristóvão), onde realiza estudos e orienta trabalhos nas linhas de pesquisa "Biodiversidade da Caatinga" e "Restauração de Áreas Degradadas"; bem como do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências Naturais (PPGCN / UFS Itabaiana), orientando na linha de pesquisa "Biodiversidade e Meio Ambiente
