This article focuses into the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on education, exploring both its transformative potential and associated risks. As AI technologies become increasingly integrated into educational systems, they offer unprecedented opportunities for enhancing learning experiences through personalized education, intelligent tutoring systems, and performance monitoring. These applications not only facilitate a tailored educational approach but also introduce significant challenges and risks, such as data privacy concerns, algorithmic bias, and the potential for widening educational inequalities. The paper comprehensively outlines the risks involved with AI deployment in educational contexts and proposes strategic measures to mitigate these risks. It emphasizes the importance of establishing robust ethical guidelines and regulatory frameworks to safeguard against data misuse and to ensure fairness and transparency in AI applications. Furthermore, the article advocates for proactive roles by educators and policymakers in shaping the integration of AI in education to align with ethical standards and educational goals. Through a detailed analysis of AI’s capabilities and pitfalls, the article provides a balanced perspective on navigating the complexities of AI in education. It calls for a concerted effort to harness AI’s benefits while addressing the ethical challenges, ensuring that AI serves as a tool for equitable educational enhancement.
