CURRICULUM COMMON NATIONAL BASE AND HEGEMONY OF ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE: CIVIL SOCIETY AS INTERVENTIONIST
Abstract
This article aims to discuss through a documentary research the hegemony of the English language without a formative itinerary in the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) and with the contribution of the All for Education Movement in this process as a private movement belonging to civil society. The discussion is based on Gramsci’s (2000, 2001) concept of an Expanded State. In this context, it is considered pertinent to organize ourselves in a counter-hegemonic movement towards other foreign and Brazilian languages that are also included in the curriculum according to social needs and also to comply with the laws in force.
