NOTION OF ERROR: A SURVEY WITH A GROUP OF PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE TEACHERS OF ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOL IN THE CITY OF PONTA GROSSA
Abstract
Through this research, we aim to glimpse and discuss the vision of a group of Portuguese Language teachers from elementary and high school, in the city of Ponta Grossa (PR), regarding the notion of error. Regarding methodological procedures, this work results from interviews recorded with Portuguese Language teachers, being part of an Undergraduate Thesis. As a theoretical contribution, authors such as: Bagno (2003a, 2003b, 2007), Bortoni-Ricardo (2004), Faraco (2007, 2008), Possenti (2000) and others were consulted. The results of this research show two distinct notions of error: one more flexible, one more conservative. And although teachers are aware of linguistic heterogeneity, many still insist on the pedagogy of error. The research also revealed the existence of linguistic prejudice. In this sense, this study highlights the importance of access to the varieties of the Portuguese language.
