OROPA, FRANÇA E BAHIA OU QUANDO AS MADAMES VIAJAM

O artigo busca colocar em diálogo dois textos herdeiros da tradição romanesca oitocentista em Portugal, que operam releituras da obra de Eça de Queirós: o romance Nação crioula, do angolano José Eduardo Agualusa, e a peça teatral Madame, da escritora portuguesa Maria Velho da Costa. Através dos cruzamentos desses dois textos, enfocando as personagens femininas, pretende-se analisar sua construção na perspectiva do “deslocamento” paródico que promovem em relação às obras de origem, à luz de alguns temas relevantes para os estudos feministas e póscoloniais.

This article intends to compare two texts that “reread” Eça de Queirós’s novel: José Eduardo Agualusa’s Nação crioula, and Maria Velho da Costa’s Madame. By crossing this two texts, and focusing on feminine characters, it discusses the “parodic displacement” and some other subjects that concern to postcolonial and feminist studies.
