EMOTIONS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING AND LEARNING ON SOCIAL NETWORK INSTAGRAM
Abstract
This article investigates the emotions of followers learners in the process of teaching/learning English on the social network Instagram. More specifically, in an online class given by teacher Carina Fragozo, through IGTV (Instagram -TV). We used the descriptive and quantitative-qualitative methodology (GIL, 2002; KINCHELOE, 2003; and SOARES, 2003), to verify in the comments of followers-learners the processes that generated such emotions, the role of emotions in teaching/learning English in the context of social network, seeking the factors that help teaching/ learning. Based on Biology of Knowing (MATURANA, 2002) and studies on emotions and technologies (ARAGÃO, 2007, 2011, 2016, 2017), we concluded that the social network, Instagram, configures itself as a teaching/learning platform, and that there are elements of the social network responsible for triggering positive emotions. These emotions are determinant in the learning of followers-learners, they also promote a greater interaction between learner and teacher as well as influencing the teaching/learning process.
