This article discuses the role of the heroe in Clarice Lispector’s writings. It explores the aspects of heroic “magic power” departing from the stream pointed by moments of revelation and epiphany. The critical approaches by Benedito Nunes and Affonso Romano de Sant’Anna are revisited, thus fundamenting the anthopological theory on George Frazer’s “O ramo de ouro”. The written analysis develops in form of the narration “Onde estiveste de noite”.
Key words: heroe, rite, ecstasy, magic
