JOGOS, ANTIJOGOS UMA BREVE HETEROLOGIA LATINOAMERICANA

O artigo utiliza-se da novela Xadrez (1942) de Stefan Zweig – escrita em Petrópolis (RJ) pouco antes de seu suicídio –, a fim de abordar criticamente, sob a perspectiva da noção nietzscheana de jogo, uma particular heterologia latino-americana. Partindo de pistas deixadas por escritores nativos como Machado de Assis, César Aira e Lima Barreto, aborda textos jocosos devidos a intelectuais europeus de meados do século XX que, não por acaso, viajaram para e viveram na América do Sul, como Roger Caillois, Marcel Duchamp e o próprio Zweig. A teoria dos jogos, do sagrado e da festa que informa a reflexão provém de ensaios de Caillois, Johan Huizinga, Gilles Deleuze, Félix Guattari, Walter Benjamin e Raúl Antelo.

This article draws on the Stefan Zweig novel Chess (1942), written in Petrópolis (RJ) just before his suicide, in order to address critically, in the light of Nietzsche’s perspective of play, a particular kind of latinamerican heterology. Starting with traces left by native writers such as Machado de Assis, César Aira and Lima Barreto, it analyses joking texts by european intellectuals from the mid-20th century who (not by chance) traveled and lived in South America, such as Roger Caillois, Marcel Duchamp, and Zweig himself. The theories of the play, of the sacred, and of the party, which inform this reflexion, stem from essays by Caillois, Johan Huizinga, Gilles Deleuze, Félix Guattari, Walter Benjamin and Raúl Antelo.
