Este artigo tem por objetivo examinar a tragédia euripidiana Alceste, sua ambigüidade preciosa, sua atualidade e seu significado hoje. Nossa leitura é feita através da impossibilidade de se distinguir de forma preciosa o seu gênero, se trágico, tragicômico ou se satírico. A análise se faz também através da reflexão de uma possível comparação entre Alceste e o filme de Paul Weiland, Roseanne.

Ce travail a pour but d’examiner la tragédie euripidienne Alcestis, son ambiguité précieuse, son actualité et sa signification aujourd’hui. Notre lecture est construite à partir de l’impossibilité de distinguer precisément son genre, si tragique, si tragi-comique ou si satyrique. L’analyse se fait aussi à travers la réflexion d’une possibilite de comparasion entre l’Alcestis et le filme de Paul Weiland, Roseanne.
