Este artigo analisa o desfecho de um fato sócio-político a partir de um proferimento do presidente Fernando Henrique Cardoso e sua repercussão na imprensa. Fundamentado nos estudos sobre atos de fala, do filósofo da linguagem John Austin, o trabalho enfoca os chamados performativos implícitos, que dão conta das intenções que envolvem a enunciação e a maneira como elas são percebidas pelo ouvinte.

This article analyzes the result of one social politic fact about Fernando Henrique Cardoso president utterings and its press repercussion. Based in the studies about speech acts from John Austin language’s philosopher, the work approachs the implicits performatives called, that treat of intentions that involve the enunciation and the way how they are perceived by the listener.
