DIACRONY OF SOMATIC VERBAL PHRASEOLOGICAL SYNTAGMS STRUCTURED WITH THE NOUN HAND: CODIFICATIONS AND INSTITUTIONALIZATIONS
Abstract
The objective of this brief research is to present a proposal for the application the theoretical aspects of Historical Phraseology with the construction of diachronic paths of some phraseological verbal phrases formed by the somatic noun “hand”, in the synchronic moments from the 18th to the 21st century. The methodological basis is based on the theoretical assumptions of Historical Phraseology, emanated by Echenique Elizondo (2021b). Based on the phraseological verbal phrases codified in the work of Silva (1789), we idealized the diachronic trajectory of phraseological verbal phrases in the fixational and idiomatic aspects, using as synchronic moments the secular corpora available in the Brazilian Portuguese Historical Dictionary (DHPB) and the codifications in the main Brazilian lexicographical works. Despite the small sample and few occurrences in the corpora, the objective of presenting a way of applying the theoretical assumptions of Historical Phraseology was achieved.
