Neste artigo, verifi co que as palavras funcionais, especialmente as preposições, revelam propriedades fonológicas diferentes das palavras lexicais. Portanto, o objetivo deste trabalho é discutir que as preferências da prosodização superfi cial das palavras funcionais refl etem, simplesmente, o modo como elas são organizadas nas palavras prosódicas da sentença.

In this paper, I state that function words, especially prepositions, display phonological properties that are different from those of lexical words. Thus, the aim of this work is to evince that options in the surface prosodization of function words simply refl ect the manner in which these words are organized as prosodic words in the sentence.
