A cidade do homem, de Amadeu Lopes Sabino, é um romance para leitores com os olhos e a mente aberta para uma discussão tanto literária quanto histórica a respeito da figura do poeta e do desembargador que foi Antonio Dinis da Cruz e Silva, mas é também a construção de um universo ficcional no qual se imprime o mítico, pela presença de deuses mitológicos; a cultura popular, através dos rituais da criada Brites; o místico, pela crença no caráter agourento de certas aves como o pardal.
