EXCENTRICIDADE E TRANSGRESSÃO DE GÊNERO NA AUTOBIOGRAFIA DE MARGARET SKINNIDER

Abstract

Mediante análise da autobiografia da militante feminista e nacionalista Margaret Skinnider, atuante no processo de descolonização irlandesa, investigamos, com base na teoria da performatividade, seu uso excêntrico e transgressivo da vestimenta na constituição performativa do gênero, sublinhando sua instrumentalização do vestuário em microrresistências operadas nos interstícios das tecnologias disciplinares. Atentos ao modo como Skinnider jogava com padrões de vestuário, demonstramos que a militante transgredia duplamente as normatividades de gênero, seja por uma condescendência estratégica na qual burlava códigos de feminilidade no ato mesmo de sua suposta iteração, seja pela prática da travestilidade, que lhe facultava uma constante flutuação entre os pólos masculino e feminino.
