Resumo: Este trabalho analisa a parte final do romance The Winshaw Legacy de Jonathan Coe, publicado em 1994, como paródia do romance policial clássico, especificamente O caso dos dez negrinhos de Agatha Christie. Discute-se paródia, comédia burlesca e reflexões sobre a escrita do livro – a biografia da família Winshaw - pelo protagonista-escritor como meios de enfatizar o caráter metaficcional do romance e seu comentário cáustico sobre o contexto econômico e político da Inglaterra contemporânea.
