Este ensaio rastreia e interpreta alguns dos traços mais marcantes de duas revistas literárias publicadas em 1916, Exílio e Centauro, assim como integra o seu contributo no contexto de uma modernidade literária mais ampla. Nesse sentido, dá especial atenção aos modos como o Decadentismo foi pelos autores que publicaram nessas revistas recebido, continuado e transformado durante um dos períodos mais determinante para o desenvolvimento do modernismo português, entre os anos de 1915 e 1917.
