Abstract

Lean construction is a strategic philosophy that focuses on eliminating waste using a new concept of management and production flow. This article portrays a study of scientific literature carried out during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic that addresses the application of the lean construction philosophy and its employability in Brazilian civil construction. The objective of this is to analyze and verify how the principles of this tool contributed during the pandemic to the continuous improvement and efficiency of processes in civil construction. For this, systematic research was used. Based on keywords for the study, five articles were selected on the application of lean construction in the construction sector. Then, a quantitative analysis of the results achieved in each company under study was carried out and the benefits of applying lean construction were evidenced. Finally, final considerations are highlighted on the importance of applying the principles of lean construction to eliminate waste and reduce costs in civil construction.
