University outreach projects allow the sharing of knowledge by means of research and activities developed by projects that also seek to solve problems in specific social contexts, contributing both to the education of students and teachers, as well as to society. This article reports the experience of a series of events that included a cycle of lectures, called “#Fridayswithscience” (#SextouComCiência”). The article presents in detail how the actions were carried out, which was possible thanks to the use of digital technologies as an alternative during the pandemic period. The article discusses the results obtained from the questionnaire answered by the participants at the end of the event and concludes that, given the organization of the event and the topics addressed, the participating public reacted positively to the actions, which emphasizes the importance of continuing outreach projects in higher education.
