Abstract

This article reports the proposal and actions of an Outreach Project named Aurora carried out at the University of the Joinville Region (Univille, Portuguese acronym), campus São Bento do Sul (SC). The project aimed at promoting social entrepreneurship among Univille undergraduate students by means of actions that support Third Sector institutions, based on a multi and interdisciplinary proposal. The partner institutions were the Women's Network to Fight Cancer (from 2017 to 2019) and the Animal Protection Association (in 2020), both from São Bento do Sul. The project met an internal demand of the university and was approved by the Dean of Community Affairs Office and developed based on specific schedules, goals and methodologies for each year of its implementation. As main results, the project contributed to a comprehensive and humanized academic education, enabling students to develop professional and citizenship practices, encouraging volunteering and raising awareness of critical social causes.
