TEACHING AND LEARNING THE CULTIVATION OF PLANTS WITH THE MIND AND THE "HEART"

Abstract

This study aims to report the experiences, scope and results of the Center for Studies and Research in Floriculture (Ceflor-UFC) in order to provide to the general public the basic teachings on plant cultivation. It was carried out through bibliographic and electronic research, analysis of the records of visits and workshops. Thus, collecting primary and observational data, a descriptive analysis was conducted to identify the outreach action. The project carried out workshops and lectures, produced technical reports and published articles and books. This study describes the results of the workshops held in 2017 and 2018. In this period, 24 workshops were held; 2,615 people participated in it; 14 products related to the project were launched. It is an outreach project that involves the internal and external community from Federal University of Ceará, contributing to the intellectual, civic and emotional development of the people that take part in it.
