The general objective of the program Defesa Civil na Escola is to implement self-protection behavior, and its specific objective is to train professionals to be multipliers of knowledge in school environment since the International Strategy for Reduction of Risks Disaster - DRR of ONU, to which Brazil is signatory, states that “the reduction of risks and disasters starts at school”. Due the pandemic, caused by the new coronavirus, social self-protection has demonstrated its importance as a way of prevention against Covid-19 disease. Thus, respecting social distance, the program was developed to train multipliers in distance learning through Moodle and Lives platforms. This joint action, articulated in partnership with the municipalities of Santa Catarina, has made teachers from all networks, their students and their families, protagonists in risk and disaster management, providing them opportunity to develop self-protection skills.
