CONTINUING TEACHER EDUCATION: AN OUTREACH COURSE ON THE PROBLEM SOLVING METHODOLOGY IN SCIENCE FOR REMOTE TEACHING

Abstract

This study presents the results of a continuing education course on Problem Solving Methodology for teachers of Natural Sciences, carried out through the Google Meet platform. It was developed by professors linked to the Federal University of Pampa, Unipampa, campus Caçapava do Sul, RS. Thus, this article aims to present the structure and development of the course, the problem situations elaborated by the course participants and their respective classifications according to the literature, as well as the difficulties and potentialities of elaborating it. The qualitative data were collected through questionnaires answered by the course participants at the beginning and end of the training as well as by the problem situations elaborated and the seminars that were recorded. The results point to the preference for the development of qualitative and theoretical or conceptual problems. They also indicate the potentialities associated with the development of various skills and difficulties related to the elaboration of problems.
