Abstract

The article aims to rescue the historical contributions of the Extension Program: Nucleus of Studies, Research, Extension and Advice on Childhood and Adolescence (NEPIA) of the State University of Ponta Grossa, both in the process of professional training of academics and teachers, as in the advisory municipalities in the Campos Gerais Region (PR). NEPIA seeks to contribute to the strengthening of the System for the Guarantee of the Rights of Children and Adolescents, through advisory services, courses and events with a view to the continued training of professionals in different public policies, in addition to training guardianship counselors and rights counselors. The text was built through bibliographic research, focusing on the relationship between university extension and community advisory processes. Documentary research was also used through the reports of extension projects developed over the 25 years of existence of the Nucleus, which bring testimonies about the impact of extension actions in the region.
