Vaccines emerged as a response to the population’s needs affected by diseases that have historically caused high mortality rates. The program was developed to promote occupational health for workers inside and outside the university. This paper describes the program with an exploratory nature, depicting the experiences gained in actions carried out by the projects participating in the "Occupational Health: Immunization as a Preventive Practice" extension program. Challenges related to vaccination, handling the system and combating fakenews were identified, highlighting the importance of health education in promoting collective health. The success of the program, in addition to raising awareness about vaccination, consolidates the relevance of health education in overcoming challenges and building healthy practices. This is interesting both to university students and to municipalities, states and the union, as it involves the system and the community.
