Abstract

The search for ethnodevelopment carried out by indigenous peoples brings to light the need for a new look at development, which is based on care for traditional communities and respect for good living in their territories. The objective of this work was to address sustainable ethnodevelopment in the Hanaiti Yomomo Indigenous Association (AHY), Aldeia Brejão, indigenous land of Nioaque, MS, through the extension project proposed by the Postgraduate Program in Natural Resources/UFMS and developed by the academic community and partners. Aiming to meet the objectives of the extension project, an exploratory study was initially carried out, through a brief literature review. Next, priority areas for offering short courses and training to the community were identified. With the completion of the project, it was possible to observe the materialization of the association's activities through ethnodevelopment, bringing a constructive and self-sustainable perspective to the community.
