O CONHECIMENTO DE ESTUDANTES DE UMA UNIVERSIDADE DO INTERIOR DO PARANÁ SOBRE A MORTE NEONATAL

Objective: describe the knowledge of students about neonatal death. Research associated to the extension project “Humanization: support group for parents of premature infants”. Methodology: 11 students of the psychology, phonoaudiology, physiotherapy, nutrition, nursing and social service course participated. It’s about a qualitative research, using semi-structured interview. It was used content analysis, thematic modality. Results: a little more of a half of participants don’t had contact with the thematic. The speeches reveal three thematic axes: “The Unity of Neonatal Intensive Theraphy: scenarios and experiences about the neonatal death”; “The reception and the empathy in the experience of neonatal death”; The importance of the formation to the profissional atuation in the face of the neonatal death". Conclusion: it is considered essential that the thematic be addresed during the formation in a transversal way. Death education is fundamental to expanding the perspective about the death process and to the development of essentials skills in face of the neonatal death.
