CONTRIBUIÇÕES PARA A CURRICULARIZAÇÃO DE EXTENSÃO NOS CURSOS DE ENGENHARIA FLORESTAL

Abstract

The extension project "Giving voice to trees: an interaction between technology, nature and man", started in 2019, aims to integrate UNEMAT with the community through environmental education actions on urban forestation, using technologies such as QR Codes on the trees in the squares of Alta Floresta-MT. The actions involved elementary and high school students from partner schools, as well as students from the Forest Engineering course, who actively participated in all stages of the project. This included the identification and dendrological characterization of the trees, the making and installation of QR Code plaques and the holding of lectures. The participation of Forest Engineering students was fundamental for the extension curriculum process. By applying their knowledge in practice, the students experienced the integration of theory with the reality of urban forestation, contributing to their professional training and aligning themselves with the guidelines of the MEC for university extension.
