First aid is an action to assist victims of accidents and sudden health problems, with the aim of preserving life until specialized professionals arrive. First aid education is essential in academic environments, where emergencies occur frequently due to the concentration of people involved in various activities. In this context, this experience report aims to share the initiatives developed at the State University of Feira de Santana by the First Aid Education Program in Basic Education Institutions. Four theoretical and practical workshops were held, focusing on accident prevention and notions of first aid. The workshops used innovative methodologies to prepare the university community when exposed to real situations. A total of 50 people took part in the training sessions. The results showed, through the participants' reports, that the majority felt better prepared after the training sessions, highlighting the importance of practical teaching and a good grasp of the techniques covered.
