Abstract

The mini handball is a game used for introducing and teaching handball. It has its own rules and its measurement is changed since it is designed for children who do not know how to play the sport yet. Therefore, it is less complex than the original game. This study aims to report the practical experience of organizing an event and teaching handball for children. This study is an experience report of an event carried out by academics of Physical Education. The students that took place in the event attend elementary education in public and private school, in Irati, Paraná. The total number of participants was 120, between the ages of eight and ten. They were divided into 12 teams and were monitored by the academics. It was possible to notice that the extension experience and the teaching of a new sport were beneficial to the academics of Physical Education.
