ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION, RECYCLE SOLID WASTE AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATOR FORMATION

This paper is about activities developed in the extension project Environmental Education, Recycle Solid Waste and Social Responsibility. The project team consisted of professors and academics of Biological Sciences Course (UNICENTRO-PR). The pedagogical and investigative actions were conducted with administrative staff, teachers and students of Escola Municipal Domingos Sávio, located in Guarapuava- PR, from 2008 to 2009. The aim of the project was to raise students’ awareness about sustainability, recycle solid waste and social responsibility. Methodologically it comprised lectures, workshops, gymkhana and thematic science fair. The main results can be summarized as follows: effective environmental education considering the central theme; the actions provided base for discussions about the implementation of a Program of Environmental Management in that school, contributing effectively to the initial teacher training of the academics that took part in this project.Downloads
