LABORATORY FOR STUDY OF TEXT: A PLACE FOR SOCIAL AND ACADEMIC PRACTICES

The aim of this paper is to present the main activities developed in the Laboratory for the Study of Text, an extension program conducted at Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa. It supports projects related to areas of interest which work with texts and/or similar areas. Through activities such as reading, writing, analysis and discussion of texts from various genres, during the period from October, 2007 to October, 2009, to congregate projects as follows: a) to provide extension services, through specific disciplines, courses and short courses, b) to conduct researches projects that also develop extension work (projects of scientific initiation); c) development of educational projects to teachers and to the community, so, among the range of possibilities, we create spaces for teachers and academics to interact through study groups and groups designed to develop didactic materials; d) development of reading and writing studies to the social strata to which it may be relevant. As a result, we highlight the involvement of 10 professors, scholars and volunteers as well as researchers in extension actions besides the wider community.
