Abstract

This paper approaches issues related to the Support Group for Parents in the Adoption Queue. We hope to provide a forum for debate about various forms of family ties and about the adopters’ main concerns and expectations. The group invludes the State University of West Center in partnership with the Forum Irati County. This project has been an important instrument for Psychology insertion in the monitoring of prospective parents in the adoption process, as well as open new possibilities for research. Initial study results have been demonstrated at various levels, like modifications in adopter profile about late adoption, dissemination of discussed information among participants in group and possible improvement of the psychological conditions during the waiting period, according to the participants’ speeches.
