MEMORY CENTER: POSSIBILITIES OF RESEARCH AND EXTENSION IN SCHOOL
Keywords:
Scholar archive, Memory center, Basic school.Abstract
This work is about the experience of the Memorial CAp-UERJ extension project. This project is registered at UERJ (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro) since 2007 and has actions such as the identification, maintenance and preservation of the history of a traditional and qualified carioca institution in the education field: Instituto de Aplicação Fernando Rodrigues da Silveira (CAp-UERJ). For this, we focus on the collection and organization of its scholar archive in order to consolidate its Memorial Center. As a place of memory, the CAp-UERJ Memory Center can be an important place of contribution to the preservation of material and immaterial school patrimony. The multiple dimensions and implications of this project show the concern to not allow that the experience of individuals who build the school on daily basis cease to exist because of the lack of history registration and preservation. We are committed ethically and epistemologically with the construction of a school that is perceived as a locus of history and memory.
