COMMUNICATION ON THE MOVE: O EXPRESSO, THE NEWSPAPER-POSTER OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT USERS IN VIÇOSA

This article aims to present the extension project “Communication on the move: O Expresso. It is carried out by Social Communication Department and by the academics of Journalism Course at Federal University of Viçosa. The newspaper is monthly distributed in municipal buses and also disposed in a large poster. It has different kind of graphic presentation. The newspaper preparation is done following predetermined phases, which include meetings with voluntary students (students from different period of the course), opinion researches which are obtained from public transport users, and visits to the neighborhoods. Thus, the project links journalism theories with journalistic practice, benefiting students and community. O Expresso aims, through a journalism committed with the interests of the community, to achieve the social development of the readers as well as their valorization, bringing their histories and experiences to the newspaper.Downloads
