Abstract

This study aims to describe the evaluation of academics that participated in the extension project “Executive Secretary Course – preparing for the first job” conducted at UNIOESTE. After ten months, it was applied questionnaires to 24 academics who took part in the project, which was developed through workshops offered to adolescents linked to assistance institutions, in order to evaluate their experiences, involvement and interest about extension. It was possible to conclude that, beside the concern with the project results, the initiative has brought commitment to social issues. According to the academics, the most difficult situation was to understand the reality of adolescents and work with them through their perspective. It was also verified that despite participants’ lack of time it was not an impediment for their commitment to the project. Instead, they are motivated to take part in new ones.
